Looking for a way to create that frosty freezer ice crystal look? Well it’s time to dust off the old wax gun. It’s a simple device—that’s been used in the industry for over seventy years—comprised of a steel kettle with an air-line. Paraffin Wax Beads are warmed to just over their melting point in the kettle (much warmer then that and it can create a fire hazard). The kettle is removed from the heat, an air hose is connected and when you crack open the valve molten wax sprays out of the gun. Then you just wave the gun back and forth across any surface until the wax “crystals” create the desired look. It’s that simple! On camera it looks like frost and ice. What can we say, sometimes old school answers are the best answers.
